Position Overview
As a Staff Accountant, you’ll be an integral part of our accounting team, contributing to a wide range of public practice functions. This role is ideal for someone with a strong academic background in accounting and hands-on experience in bookkeeping or financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements through accurate bookkeeping and accounting.
- Prepare personal and corporate income tax returns.
- Ensure compliance and accuracy in financial records using accounting best practices.
- Collaborate with partners and managers on client engagements and internal projects.
Qualifications
- Enrollment in the CPA program or completion of relevant university courses toward CPA designation.
- Experience with accounting and tax software such as CaseWare, TaxPrep, QuickBooks, and Simply Accounting.
- Familiarity with computerized payroll, bookkeeping, and record-keeping systems.
- Experience preparing T4s and T5s is preferred.

- Maintain up to date understanding of income tax
- Oversee bookkeeping and support tasks

Credentials
- CPA designation or nearing completion of designation
- Experience with Caseware, Tax Prep, Quickbooks, Sage Accounting
- Minimum 4 years public accounting experience (2 years in a manager role preferred)
- High computer literacy
- Solid understanding of income tax and sales taxes
